I’m from Los Angeles but both my parents were born and raised in Ashdod, Israel. Before that, my grandparents from both sides are from Morocco.

I am now at California State University, Northridge pursuing an undergraduate degree in psychology. I have been searching for a way to send my ideas and integrate them to create something impactful and meaningful. Being a part of this project has been such a pleasure and I’m so excited to see all the beautiful displays that we have been working endlessly on.

I chose the poem Where Is My TeddyBear? because I appreciated the theme of innocence portrayed in it.

This poem’s imagery and explicitly of the situation Greta was in truly stuck out to me and made me empathize with her. It provides a simple but harsh reality of what moving around and not being able to live your childhood really was for Greta.

I have read this poem numerous times and each time I feel more and more grateful for my parents, grandparents, and the safety and security we are privileged to share.
